Capita Travel and Events has announced the appointment of Donna Fitzgerald as chief operating officer (COO). Fitzgerald will also become an executive team member and her new role will commence on 1 May 2021.
Fitzgerald has extensive experience in the business travel, meetings and events industries and has been a part of the business for the past 30 years. Progressing through roles from; operations, account management, bid management, customer solutions and most recently director of sales and solutions.

The appointment comes after Capita said it is to sell of its Travel and Events arm, as well as others, in deals expected to raise around £700m. The company said it would wait for a recovery in the sector with a view towards late 2022.
