The Belfry Hotel & Resort has been confirmed as headline sponsor for the Meetings Industry Association’s miaList 2020, and will host the event through its new virtual event platform, The Belfry Live.

The 9th annual miaList will take place on 8 December at 4pm via a virtual ceremony sponsored by The Belfry and G3 Events and is free to attend. The miaList recognises the industry’s greatest talent and is designed to honour those who play a pivotal role in making their organisation’s success and champion the business meetings and events industry.

The Belfry Live and Belfry Studio are the resort’s new professional virtual meetings and events solutions that allow organisations to connect live with audiences across the globe to collaborate and cascade information. The Belfry Live and Belfry Studio packages also include all AV set-up and equipment along with a technical crew on the day.

The Belfry has been awarded AIM secure accreditation, the UK’s only recognised quality standard for the meeting industry, and the ‘We’re Good to Go’ industry standard which recognises that they have followed government and industry Covid-19 guidelines.

Katie Niland, sales director, The Belfry Hotel & Resort, commented: “The miaList 2020 provides some much-needed positivity by celebrating the extraordinary talent within our sector in a Covid-safe way, and we are proud to be sponsoring such a prestigious award ceremony for our industry. We would like to congratulate the nominees and wish them all the best of luck. Using our new virtual platforms, attendees will be able to fully immerse themselves into the online event as they would at a traditional award ceremony. Our new virtual meetings and events packages have been designed to ensure events such as the miaList 2020 can continue to take place safely in line with government guidelines and connect industries after a very challenging year.”

Jane Longhurst, chief executive, Meetings Industry Association, said: “In the nine years the miaList has been running, this is our first time navigating the new virtual landscape to pivot the operational delivery of the event. We are delighted to be working with The Belfry to deliver the same level of professionalism and togetherness as in previous years, despite us all tuning in from different places. It is essential right now to have a platform where we can all still come together as we showcase and celebrate the remarkable talent and commitment of our industry and we’re grateful to The Belfry for providing that solution.”
