Kerry Edwards has been appointed as the new managing director of UK Cheshire-based boutique event agency Bien Venue as the business navigates a new future.

Edwards has been promoted from a client director position to replace the agency owner Sam Elliott as MD. She will now lead sales, operations and finance teams and suppliers, as Elliott moves to a CEO role focussing on growth strategy and acquisitions.

Edwards has been at Bien Venue for six years and previously worked for major hotel groups in regional and national sales director roles.

Established in 1996, Bien Venue has its own online portals for both meetings and accommodation and has worked internationally for many years.

The Bien Venue team have booked events in locations that include Amsterdam, Cyprus, Changi, Dhaka, Doha, Dubai, Ho Chi Minh, Islamabad, Jakarta, Katmandu, Joho Bahru, Kuwait City, Manama, Mandalay, Muscat, Prague, Riyadh, Yangon, Ankara, Colombo, Brussels, Hannover, Singapore, Waikiki, Amsterdam and New York.

The agency’s work for meetings and conferences has covered the retail, education, association, food and beverage, and education sectors.

Edwards told CN: “Throughout this unprecedented time, our number one aim has been to focus on our employees and our clients, providing support and guidance and alleviating any worries or concerns that they may have had. As a business we have had to review our strategy and the way in which we operate, we have had to review our services and ways to enhance these so that they benefit our clients as we move forward into the new normal. As Socrates once said: ‘The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new’.’’
