The Carden Park Hotel, located in Cheshire, has announced that it will host the 20th Annual Security Conference which will take place on 12 November.

The two-day conference will be organised by Sapphire, a cyber security company and will be attended by 170 cyber security professionals.

The conference will address issues such as diversity and risk. Specifically, it will touch on how diverse the industry is becoming, the lack of resources and how to recruit individuals outside of the technical industry.

Maggie Philbin, OBE ex TV presenter of Tomorrows World and founder of Teen Tech, will provide a keynote session on how to encourage more young people into STEM careers.

The event will also include industry speakers including chief information security officers from Nominet, Arqiva and Just Eat. The speakers will discuss the mind of a hacker and over 20 vendors alongside peer to peer networking opportunities.

Tina Deighton, conference organiser, said: “The event is aimed at providing valuable information and developing strategies to improve and future proof existing security processes in challenging times.

All the major issues that impact on the industry will be covered, including the changing role of a CISO, effective incident response strategies, ways to keep young people on track rather than allow them to  become the victims of organised crime, as well as a fascinating insights into what the future holds.”

Deighton continues: “Cities never stop, and we liked what the countryside offered in terms of a more relaxed yet productive environment where our delegates can be totally focussed. Carden Park offers great transport links to London and other major cities which was a big plus too.”

Dan Gibson, events director at Carden Park, said: “We are seeing more large business events moving to rural locations and choosing Carden Park as their conference partner. This is great for us and it is great for Cheshire too.”
