Welcome to Yorkshire has confirmed it will mark its 10th anniversary with a celebration at the very location where the organisation was launched in 2009.
This year’s Y conference – Y19 – will be held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on 3 April.
A major event is planned which will be open to both Welcome to Yorkshire members and non-members.
Sir Gary Verity DL, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “2019 promises to be a huge year for Yorkshire, with even more world-class events being hosted in the county. Y19 will be a celebration of not only how much Yorkshire has achieved in the last 10 years, but it will be an opportunity to share news of even bigger things to come.”
Y19 – the UK’s largest onstage tourism show will be even more spectacular than ever before, with celebrity guests, amazing Yorkshire films, huge Yorkshire announcements, a draw for 10 top luxury prizes and lots of surprises.
Tickets are now available to be part of a very special audience at the biggest show of its kind in the UK, where attendees will get exclusive previews of Welcome to Yorkshire’s plans to continue promoting the county on a global scale, plus hearing some unique insights from celebrities, Yorkshire ambassadors and key players in the tourism world.
There will be two optional 45 minute historical guided city walking tours available after the event, courtesy of Blue Badge Tourist Guides and the Royal Armouries will also be offering Y19 guests an opportunity to meet some real knights in armour. A complimentary light lunch will be provided by Leeds City College.
