The National Railway Museum in York has been announced as the host of the Green Gown Awards, which takes place on 8 November 2018.
The black-tie ceremony will see 300 guests descend on the museum, as the awards honour the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges across the UK and Ireland. Over the last 15 years, the awards have attracted a number of high profile hosts such as Lemn Sissay MBE, chancellor of the University of Manchester and Mike Barry, director of sustainable business at Marks & Spencer.
Guests at the event will enjoy arrival drinks and awards dinner in the National Railway Museum’s Station Hall, amongst the platforms between the museum’s famous royal carriages, such as Queen Victoria’s Carriage. The space will be transformed expertly from a public museum by day to an elegant setting for the award celebrations, framed by the beautiful historical carriages.
