Alex Donnelly-Palmer, events and operations manager for Historic Royal Palaces, has completed his walk the Great Wall of China in support of St Catherine’s hospice.

Alex and husband Johnny were moved to take part in the China Trek this month after the charity cared for Johnny’s late father through his final days of a terminal illness in 2012.

Alex said: ‘Walking the Great Wall of China was a huge challenge, but knowing that St Catherine’s hospice relies on people like us raising money to provide its vital services kept us motivated. It’s also been a great chance for us to give something back to a charity that’s done so much for our family, and continues to do so much.”

Alex has raised £140k but says he is “hoping to have one last push to get to the magic £150k”. Details for anyone wishing to support: www.justgiving.com/donnellypalmer
