With the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) laws coming into effect on 25 May, Shocklogic has come up with a quirky way of explaining how the new framework will affect people by releasing an illustrated story: Dark Data: A Shocklogic Tale of The Data Thief, GDPR and Vulnerable Pilgrims.

It covers both physical and digital security, and includes tips on how to prepare your organisation for the coming legislation.

The story centres on Jess, a recently fired employee from Pilgrims (a fictional company). She finds herself in a difficult position, and turns to the dark web. She is very aware of the value of personal data, and with that knowledge, she continues down a bad path.

As well as covering important points on GDPR, Dark Data educates through relatable examples of what can go wrong, who will receive the blame, and how it can affect your business. It also shows that GDPR is actually a good thing for your organisation, and that awareness + preparation = safety!

You can read the full story here.

Shocklogic CEO, John Martinez will be delivering a session at Confex Future Focus in Manchester on 4-5 July 2018.
