Unicorn Events has recorded strong growth after its first year of trading. The agency’s mid-year figures are up 68% on projected turnover and 42% on profit.

The agency has expanded as a result. Elena Clowes has joined as event manager from ILEA UK. Clowes had been events and association manager for the UK arm of the global association and is now returning to agency life after two years in her previous position.

Managing director, Hannah Luffman, who is also director of education for ILEA, said: “We have been looking for some time for a candidate who has both logistical experience and a curious nature for designing the ultimate creative solutions for our events. Elena fits the brand values of Unicorn Events perfectly and we are thrilled she is joining us.”

Carlo Zoccali, president ILEA UK Chapter added: “This is great news and shows how ILEA can work for its members and the businesses that work in partnership with our organisation. Elena has been a massive part of the ILEA success story, and has grown a huge network of people that respect her hard work, diligence and many other qualities. We’ll really miss her, but could not think of a better place for her than Unicorn Events.”

Simon Berry has also joined the agency, starting in the summer as event coordinator, as well as Elizabeth Parker as producer.
