Following a record attendance in 2015, the Liberal Democrats have returned to Bournemouth for their autumn party conference.

This is the political party’s largest event of the year. It opened on Saturday and runs at Bournemouth International Centre until Tuesday 19 September.  It is expected to attract 2,000 visitors to the town and contribute £2.2m to the local economy through business tourism.

Pat Coyne, BH Live’s director of venues and events said, “We are delighted to welcome the Liberal Democrats back to Bournemouth for their autumn conference. Events such as this create a real buzz in the town and make a significant contribution to our local economy, both in terms of business tourism and destination profile.”

“Bournemouth is a fantastic destination that always proves popular with our party members. We’re looking forward to returning for our federal conference this year,” said the party’s head of conferences, Lydia Dumont.
