Following on from the ‘Bring your dog to work day’ on 23 June, Swindon-based booking agency Venues and Events International is reporting a very positive response from its staff to a two-month extension to the stress-relief initiative.
The agency’s employees have been bringing their dogs to work on average four times a week and the four-legged friends may not have been taking bookings, but have been roaming the office space, welcoming suppliers and clients at the door, and enjoying walks around the Wiltshire farm HQ with members of the 23-strong team.
The company, led by chief executive Anita Lowe, has always held a dog-friendly policy, with the recent national uptake of the initiative inspiring team members to take part more regularly.
Executive support Magda Junqueira supports the scheme, saying: “It’s great working in an office where dogs are welcome. This industry can be very fast-paced and quick changing so it’s nice to be able to get up from your desk when you are having a particularly challenging day and cuddle one of the dogs on our office sofas for a couple of minutes. It really helps me to relax and I feel much more focused afterwards.”
A recent company social event at Venues and Events International, sponsored by Qhotels, hosted 12 staff dogs for a series of sporting activities and challenges.
Event manager Eloise Perry’s retriever Wilson, pictured, is a particularly frequent visitor to the office.
