British Airways was struck by another IT failure on Wednesday, causing ‘total chaos’ for passengers, it has been reported.
The Telegraph reports an issue with the check-in system at Heathrow Terminal 5, however a British Airways spokesperson has since announced the issue has been resolved.
A statement read: “Customers are being checked in as normal after an earlier problem was resolved. We are sorry for the temporary check-in problems which caused some delays for our customers first thing this morning.
“This issue is now resolved and our staff are working flat out to help customers get away on their holidays.”
The failure comes a day after tighter border checks at airports across Europe resulted in thousands of British holidaymakers having to endure lengthy queues, and a month after another IT failure saw 75,000 British Airways passengers stranded around the world.
Those planning to travel with British Airways on Wednesday are advised to leave extra time and check their flight status.
