Cotswold Airport was the venue chosen by General Motors’ Vauxhall for the UK press launch of its new Insignia model. The event took place from 20-21 June, aboard the airport’s Boeing 747 events plane. Over the two days around 40 national and motoring journalists came on board the jet to see a presentation on the new car, before setting out around the Cotswolds on planned routes to experience the car and all it has to offer.
The build day on 19 June saw one of Vauxhall’s new Insignias being lifted inside the plane through the cargo hatch. Cotswold Airport’s fire crew and estates team worked with engineers from on-site tenant company ‘Air Salvage International’ to install the vehicle.
Set-builders and a specialist AV team directed by Vauxhall’s PR company created a unique experience for the press, with rows of seats with iPads in the headrests to emulate a true aviation experience.
