SMG Europe Holdings has been confirmed as the operator of Hull’s brand new convention centre. SMG executive vice president European operations John Sharkey will head the operation.
The £36m project, which will have capacity for 3,500 people and is being funded by Hull City Council, is due to open in 2018.
The Hull Daily Mail reports that SMG will be awarded a 25-year contract.
