Business conferences and exhibitions can last all day or for a few days and you will usually be on your feet and networking most of the time. Yet the best networkers and conference organisers somehow manage it, so what’s their secret?

Here are four top tips for keeping your conference head on:

1. Assemble a like-minded team

If you’ve organised your own conference or exhibition, you can’t be everywhere at once and if you try, you’ll burn out quickly. Bringing a team is a great idea and you can rotate shifts, take turns manning the stands and have regular breaks. However, make sure you assemble a team that has been briefed thoroughly to ensure things run smoothly when you’re not around.

2. Make a plan and stick to it

A conference is a great opportunity to grow your business but without a clear plan or objective, you’ll soon wear yourself out with worry. Take some time to consider the specific products or services you wish to push, and the specific objectives you wish to achieve. With no energy wasted on worrying, you’ll keep yourself feeling fresh.

3. Keep refuelling

“I haven’t got time to eat”, sound familiar? The short answer is…Yes you have. Be sure to start the day with a good breakfast, eat small amounts throughout the day and stay hydrated. Avoid a large heavy lunch that might make you sleepy, though. Staying refuelled combats fatigue and ensures you’re sharp and raring to go.

4. Stay on the move

Sitting around for long periods or standing in the same spot will make you more tired. Keep moving and you’ll stay energised plus adrenaline will start to help you out, too.
