Inntel’s managing director, Douglas O’Neill, has accepted a recent invitation to chair the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) Europe Meetings Committee, which he has served on as an ordinary member for the last two years.

GBTA Europe works with buyers and suppliers from across Europe and helps to promote and develop the business travel industry through networking, research, education and advocacy.

This latest appointment adds to the long list of commitments that O’Neill has undertaken on a voluntary basis to support the meetings industry in the UK and Europe. He has previously been a board director of the Institute of Travel and Meetings (for UK and Ireland) and a member of the Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA) committee, which saw him named as a co-author on the first HBAA Code of Conduct. In addition to his new chairman’s role, O’Neill is also currently an advisory panel member for the Meetings Show, the Business Travel Show and the Meetingsbenchmark.

Speaking of his recent appointment, o’Neill said: “Inntel has a reputation as an industry leader and to maintain that position I need to lead from the top. By immersing myself in the industry I am able to see what’s happening right now, shape the way things are heading and share my insights with everyone in the company.”

Inntel is the largest and fastest growing meetings management business in the UK. The company provides hotel reservations, venue finding and conference management solutions for both national and global corporations.
