The Bishop of Leeds, the Right Rev Nick Baines, and the Yorkshire Event Centre’s MD Heather Parry, 9 June, pulled a 30m giant red ribbon to unveil the YEC’s new Hall 1 which now makes the largest single-span space in the North East of England when combined with Hall 2. The new combined event space created is 4,320sqm. The 200 guests heard Parry outline the YEC’s vision of creating a building to rival any other events space in the UK.
