A record number of 1,817 delegates attended the British Orthopaedic Association’s Annual Congress at ACC Liverpool last month.

The association had not visited the ACC Liverpool since the venue’s opening year in 2008. However, the association is set to return to the venue in September 2017 and 2019.

As well as attracting orthopaedic experts, the conference brought together top surgeons, healthcare practitioners and those considering a career in orthopaedic surgery.

An exhibition at the conference drew 100 exhibitiors.

Chief executive of BOA, Mike Kimmons, said: “This year’s annual congress was our busiest event to date and we were pleased to welcome so many delegates from all over the world.”

Kerrin MacPhie, director of conference and exhibition sales at The ACC Liverpool Group, said: “We were delighted to welcome the British Orthopaedic Association back to the venue. I am thrilled by the excellent attendee numbers and positive feedback received from delegates.”
