Full steam ahead for Newcastle hotel

These are the first images of a new luxury hotel in Newcastle.

The 251-bed Crowne Plaza Newcastle – Stephenson Quarter features purpose-built, flexible meetings rooms, a high AV spec and special break-out areas.

The meeting rooms are named in recognition of the engineering history that the hotel’s location is famous for – it’s a short walk from the historic Stephenson Works that was home to the Robert Stephenson and Co. Locomotive Works where the revolutionary Rocket was built in 1829.

The Stephenson Suite seats and caters for 360 people. The 12-sided facility has acoustic sound panels modelled on the design of the Royal Albert Hall and has three lighting systems: daylight, individual spotlights and wall flash lighting in four colours to add to the ambience. The room also has a private bar and reception area.

A further eight adaptable meeting rooms come with inbuilt 75 inch plasma screens with wireless connectivity to project directly from laptops, tablets or phones; air conditioning and natural daylight as well as individual Wi-Fi hubs so each room has complimentary Wi-Fi for all delegates.

Day delegate rates start from £40 and residential delegate rates from £155.
