A construction firm in Yorkshire was put into administration after it ran into problems with a major project to create a wedding venue near Harewood Bridge between Leeds and Harrogate, it has been reported in the Yorkshire edition of TheBusinessDesk.com

Haresign Construction Ltd, which was based in Wetherby, had a business creating handcrafted buildings, many in Yorkshire.

Administrators say a dispute over the company’s contract for the wedding venue at Wharfedale Grange, led to it being terminated, resulting in “significant” cashflow problems for Haresign.

A Wharfedale Grange spokesperson told CN: “We were let down by  Haresign Construction Ltd, who changed their trading name the week before they went into Administration, but are continuing to trade as ‘Haresign Group Ltd’. Alternative contractors were lined up in anticipation of them doing this, who were obviously immediately brought in and it is anticipated that the project will be completed ahead of schedule and there will be absolutely no impact on any of our planned events.”

Haresign Construction was placed into the hands of joint administrators Julian Pitts and Bob Maxwell of Begbies Traynor in Leeds last month. It ceased trading with the loss of 11 jobs.

“The joint administrators are currently reviewing the issues around the dispute in order to ensure the best outcome for the company’s creditors,” said Begbies Traynor.
