Shire Hotels is upgrading its customer Internet access across the entire group with a £35k investment in each of its six four-star hotels.
Shire Hotels says the new technology will deliver a ten-fold increase in bandwidth and provide stable, secure and supest wireless Internet access in all meeting rooms, guest rooms and public areas.
Managing Director Antony Spencer says: “It’s hard to believe that in 2014 many of our competitors still find it acceptable to charge for what most guests now consider to be a basic requirement. As a smaller company, we believe this to be a significant differentiator for us and we’re delighted to deliver a tangible guest benefit through this investment.”
Spencer adds that there are no time limits on Internet access and no upgrade fee to access the higher bandwidth.
For specialist meetings and events facilities, a dedicated bandwidth of up to 80mbps can be provisioned for which there is a setup charge.
Shire Hotels partnered with Manchester-based Managed Service provider ANS, to replace the existing MPLS network at the North West head office and all hotels and inns across the group.
